K is for....Keep Swimming, just keep swimming...

Sometimes you just want to get your kids, your hubby, a few close friends, a few friends of your kids' that you enjoy and approve of, some more family, and your dog and put them all in a bubble and live a nice, little content life.
My oldest is 13....and in the 7th grade, otherwise known as Hell.
I realize now that 6th grade was amazing.  He was still in elementary school, a safe little place that he could feel good about and that I could too.  In our small town in Texas we are surrounded by other small towns....which means sometimes we have to share schools.  So Junior High and High School are the shared schools here.  The high school is in our town, no biggie.  The junior high is in another town, about 10 miles away but it takes longer than that in the mornings and afternoons to pick him up.  You see, small towns means 2 lane roads.  If you are the unlucky one to get stuck behind a bus or a person going so s-l-o-w that you want to bump them out of the way....then you are stuck.  There is never a way to pass them.  Add that to the fact that his junior high is full of little juvenile delinquents....well, I am not a happy mother.
T is an extremely happy kid.  He's outgoing and goofy and he didn't use to have many bad moods.  Now, that we have hit the unlucky 13, mood swings are an everyday occurrence everything seems out of whack.
I know I am not the only mom to go through this, nor will I be the last.  But when you see your kid begging you everyday to let him stay home because he feels like school is jail....you start to question your surroundings....or at least your school district.
Venting session over.  I promise that the letter L will be much more fun. :)

  1. Before you know it--your kid will be a grown-up (at least that is what my parents tell me). Breathe :)

Hope you’re enjoying the challenge so far!
